Rick is a Morrisville VT resident and native of Bethel CT. He received his B.A. in Art from Johnson State College, Johnson VT. with studies in Fine Art at Silvermine College of Art, New Canaan, CT, NCC College, Winsted, CT.  and Stowe artist Stan Marc Wright.

His inspiration for paintings comes from the enjoyment of being in the out of doors. He is drawn to the ever changing light and atmospheric conditions. Experiencing many a different view around every bend in the road, ski trail or hiking path has never left him with out an idea for a painting. Galleries, Exhibits and Awards include: Galleria Fine Arte’, Stowe VT. The Octagon Cafe’ and Gallery Stowe VT. ‘Art Walk’, Silo Gallery SE Vermont Welcome Center, Brattleboro VT. ‘For Arts Sake’ Stowe VT , third place in his category. The Art Store, Danbury CT, first place over all. Juried exhibitions by The New Haven Paint and Clay Club, New Haven CT,. He has been a member of The New Haven Paint and Clay Club also The Northern Vt. Artists Assoc.

Sign services has been a life long career which incorporated such techniques as sculpting, carving, hand painted illustrations, faux painting and gilding. Rick still favors the more custom projects.

Over the years he has enjoyed sharing his experiences as an instructor of carving, sculpting, and hand painting for VT Sign School, Stowe. Hosting acrylic painting, faux painting, sculpting classes for River Arts Center, Morrisville VT. and workshops in set design and painting for the Lamoille County Players, Hyde Park VT. Rick is a current member of the Board of Directors for the Lamoille County Players and on the Board of Trustees for River Arts Center.

Theatrical set design, building and decorating has become not only a passion but, a bit of a second(or third) career. Rick thoroughly enjoys not only the process of creating the many different scenic sets but how it identifies with the show’s production and how it draws the audience in.
